High Viscosity Tissue Adhesive Like No Other!
As applied to skin, Derma+Flex® QS™ is syrup-like in viscosity and polymerizes quickly—usually in less than 60 seconds. It is a sterile, topical adhesive that contains a monomeric (2-octyl cyanoacrylate) formulation and the colorant D & C Violet #2 which allows the user to easily see where the adhesive has been applied. The increased viscosity of Derma+Flex® QS™ is formulated to reduce the risk of unintended placement of the adhesive during application due to migration of the liquid adhesive from the wound site.
New Fast Dry Applicator Tip
The Derma+Flex® QS™ new flat tip applicator is perfectly suited to ensure the adhesive makes good contact with the patient’s skin. It also creates a perfect seal that is smooth on the skin each and every time.
DIRECTIONS FOR USE
Easy application. Effective formula.
STEP 1
The incision or trauma site must be clean and dry before applying adhesive. Ensure that the wound edges are easily approximated.
STEP 2
Screw the Applicator Tip onto the threaded tube in a clockwise direction until the applicator is tight and seated on the tube. The applicator will puncture the foil applicator is tight and seated on the tube. The applicator will puncture the foil.
STEP 3
While holding the tube upright and away from patient, squeeze the tube from the bottom moving the adhesive upward until it becomes visible on the applicator surface and is flowing freely.
STEP 4
While approximating skin edges, apply adhesive over the entire wound site. Move the flat surface applicator in a back and forth motion until adhesive has created a smooth and even coat covering the entire wound site.
STEP 5
Continue to hold the wound edges in approximation until the adhesive polymerizes (dries) fully, usually within 60 seconds.
STEP 6
Once adhesive has completely polymerized (non-tacky) you may cover the site with a secondary bandage. If a secondary bandage is used, DO NOT apply to the adhesive area until it is completely tack free. Applying while tacky may result in adhesive removal when removing secondary bandage and possibly dehiscence of the wound site.
STEP 7
Discard adhesive device according to normal protocol after use.
